*** EXTENDED DEADLINE ***

September 28 - October 1, 2015
Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

The International Conference on Informatics in Schools: Situation, Evolution, and Perspective (ISSEP) is an established forum for researchers and practitioners in the area of Computer Science Education with a focus on secondary schools. The ISSEP series started in 2005 in Klagenfurt, with following meetings held in Vilnius (2006), Torun (2008), Zürich (2010), Bratislava (2011), Oldenburg (2013), and Istanbul (2014). The conference language is English.

The organisers of ISSEP 2015 cordially invite you to submit a workshop proposal. Workshops are distinguished meeting points for getting informed about the ongoing work in our relevant fields and coverning current topics preferably in practical informatics at all school levels.

We offer 90-minute or 180-minute workshops, providing participants with opportunities to work (inter)actively and discuss about special topics. Of particular interest are workshop proposals also from an interdisciplinary standpoint (e.g. languages, mathematics, physics, ...).

We encourage the submission of workshop proposals on (but not restricted to):

    • the maker movement (e.g. robotics)
    • CS unplugged activities and informatics contests/challenges
    • development environments and programming interfaces
    • web applications, web collaboration and production tools (e.g. moocs and e-books)
    • good practice and worked out examples
    • short and long term lesson plans, reference models and special curricular issues

In case of interest, we also offer a "TeachMeet" which is an organised but informal meeting (in the style of an unconference) for participants to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching with technology. The input can vary between 5 minutes and 15 minutes.

In case overlapping workshops are proposed, the committee may contact the organisers to discuss the possibility of merging workshops. Please note that the duration of a workshop might need to be adjusted based on the overall number of submissions received. Furthermore, workshops where less than five people registered might be canceled.
